ok..I am a father of a 15 yr old..who is not so responsible. We are getting him a Rogue for xmas, but I need to know a few things. Firstly..I know that having this phone requires a data plan. But in fear of him exceeding his 25 MB, is there a way that I can completely remove the browser all together to eliminate the choice for him? I currently have a Samsung Omnia..customizing it is a breeze, but the fact that this not a smartphone, I understand that it wont be as customizable. While on the topic of customizing...can I store ringtones on the sd card, instead of the phones main memory?
And if there are ANY other tips you can give that would eliminate the chance of me strangling him because he went over his 25 mb, please let me know. The folks over at Samsung-omnia.com are some of the nicest, most helpful people I have EVER encountered in a forum environment, I hope you all are as friendly. Thanks in advance for ANY help shared!!!

Verizon has parental controls at I think 5 bucks a month. They can also block Vcast, And preminum txt (txt that cost) along with other features.

The parental controls can also limit the number of minutes a month he uses talking on the phone. One nice feature is you can limit what time he can use the browser.

How 'bout something like explaining how much it will cost him if he goes over the 25MB limit?   Sometimes the best solutions have nothing to do with technology Wink

With the parental controls you can cut off the browser right at 25mb. You are able to check on line the amount of usage daily and also from his phone. The contract will state how much the overage charge is per mb.

yea, Verizon can block that with Parental Controls, it's  lovely feature, lol.

But isn't something like if you have the $39.99 50MB data plan it's $.99 per MB for overage and w/ the $59.99 plan going over their 5GB limit will be charged $.49 per MB of overage... yea, that's how it goes.
