hmm, have you tried to install and run version 1.2.6?

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

Maybe if you try and run that it'll work.

Good.. glad you got it working for you.....

If you ever run across a Sony Program called Sound Forge Pro v10, Its a really full featured audio editing package and works "outta the box" so to speak.. Smiley Kinda an over kill for ringtones making, but really fun to mess with...

Have Fun.............

Another cool feature of Audacity is, if you have a specific section of an mp3 you want to use as a ringtone, but it goes a few seconds over the time limit, there is a time shift feature that can stretch or squeeze the sound clip to exactly the time you want.

Hey, so I just got a Rogue, I'm trying to get some personal ringtones going here.

I downloaded audacity and cut some songs down to 30 seconds or what not.

Question:

How do I actually set these cut songs as my ringtone?Huh?

Thanks

Have you exported them to your personal folder you want them saved to? If so...

You can send them to yourself via email (I use gmail) - just send an attachment to 000-000-0000@vzwpix.com - make sure you include your entire # (area code and all) and then send it and in a few seconds you should have a new text message. You open it and wait a few seconds before page 2/2 of your message loads and from their you can save it by going to 'options' then save as ringtone OR save as sound.

What is the largest file size that can be received by my mobile email?

I am trying to send a ringtone I edited myself (27 seconds long, 4.2MB) and it will
not send to my phone (i receive a postal failure message).  I sent a picture which was under 1MB and it went through just fine.

that is a HUGE file for a 27 second long ringtone. Most mine are 5-30 seconds long and range from 118KB to 645KB. What is the bitrate?

Mine are almost always 128kbps, anything more is most likely going to give you a huge file and it won't send through text.

that is a HUGE file for a 27 second long ....

I dated a girl that told me that before

Most mine are 5-30 seconds long ....anything more is most likely going to give you a huge file

Funny, I said the same thing!

She said "then get a condom!"

And I said "what? and give up this house?"

She said "that's it! I'm outta here"

I said "you sure are - WAAAAY out there!"

Women.
