Well i'm going to rent a metal detector and find the thing in the morning. Even if its a brick it will be alot less money to have it exchanged than to buy a new one. I figured I would let it dry out for a couple days before i try and turn it on. I've had 3 people tell me to put it in a bowl of rice that the rice will soak up any water. Has anyone else heard of this or tried it?

Rice is found in Salt shakers because it soaks up water like a sponge. 1 rogue, 2 cups rice. Where's the Wok.  Should work well, sorry to hear about your phone. Paul

Motorola phones have a white dot in the battery compartment that turns red when wet. I don't remember a dot when I put my battery in.

Good news I think. I found my Rogue. I rented a metal detector from the Lowes rental company sunbelt rentals. I would have done this yesterday but the rental Dept. is closed on Sunday. After 2 hours of hunting It was found in a plowed of pile of snow. It was in a body glove pouch and did not look like much snow got to it. At this point I have it in a bowl of rice to from what I was told to soak up any moisture. I will wait a couple hours more for it to warm up and dry out and then I will put it on charge and post here the results. Cost for the detector was only $13.38 with tax so if its not a brick, Money well spent.

Great news. After finding my phone in a plowed up pile of snow I put it in rice for 4 hours. I then plugged it in and turned it on. Everything is just fine. All my contacts are there. I made a call no problem, Even the music on my sd card is there.. I will have to give the body glove pouch props because thats what it was in. The phone had to have been plowed more than 100 feet by the person that plowed my drive. Theres not a scratch on it and it was in hard packed snow for 2 days. I will have to give samsung props because it was at 32 degress for 2 days. Yes it was down to 5 last night but snow/ice can only get to 32 degrees...

Take a block of Ice a foot thick. Put it in 10 degree weather for 24 hours..Take inside. Drill a hole 6 inches deep...Measure the temp at 6 inches. It will be no colder than 30 degrees. Ice and snow are great insulators. Yes Ice can get colder than 32 degrees but it takes extream conditions.
