Be careful not to brick your phone!!

Yes. Good hint.

I hope someone will "soon" upload Firmware for investigation.

Then also chance to reanimate U960 if something happens.

About hidden menus...

1 way I know. As we used this long time ago...
An friend of mine edited fieldtest_forms.bar

This file is in brew/mod/FieldTest/res/common

Check on U960 if you can see something similar...

But without U960, nor 1 file nor file/folder overview nor Firmware...  Sad

It is impossible for me to research and "help".

Best Regards

P.S.:

Forgotten. *.BAR files are BREW Resource files and sometimes "easy" to edit with BREW Resource Editor.

Is an Part of BREW SDK Tools and FREE and legal available from Qualcomm site:

I've got the BREW sdk, and about a thousand other CDMA/Qualcomm/SamsungPST things out there.

My question for you adfree, was do you have any idea how to find the 10 and 16 digit lock codes for the phone? And what is preventing me from doing a firmware dump of the phone?

Security settings from handset.  Sad

And second problem. That trial and error could lead too bricked handset...
So it is very important to get working DLL + BINary Firmware from U960.

Also you could find in this file the 16 Digit Security password.

So in order to find the 16 digit SP, you would need to have a copy of either the firmware .bin, or the pst dll. Well shit. I see that the bin has been offered to purchase on mobile-files forum, but it may be a while before it trickles down to us...

When Samsung PST Lite or PST reads settings from the phone, like the hidden menu setting, or the DUN setting, is it reading the NV items, or some other list of settings?

For 16 digit SP good chance to find it in BIN.

Exactly in AMSS. As the Binary contain Bootloaders, some Headerfiles, Partition Table...

You can check it self...

If you have BIN from handsets. Example would be R800 and R810 (many other handsets) ... So search for HEX value...

R810:
2008102120080228

You find this as HEX value in BIN... If you compare R800 it is on "same position"...

So SP is most at Start of AMSS.  Grin

So in theory you can find easily SP on U960 without special knowledge. Only HEX Editor is needed AND the BIN or the first 1 MB if you can dump AMSS...

See Screenshot from R810 BIN...
AMSS starts most with visible QCOM Textstring... Then before SP comes. you have many FFFFFFFFFFFFF  Grin

Check this out. With other known SP and leaked BINs...

Best Regards

you extracted the file system? you mean you're browsing it?

Go ahead and look around. Theres a thread in the how-to board for copying ringtones, but until we get a copy of the firmware, not alot of progress.

Soon....

I get NO feedback nor support nor I have U960 to test self.

So without handset and 0 files nor file overview...  Roll Eyes

Caution. It can be that files contains your private stuff. Like Oictures, SMS, Passwords, messages.

So be carefully to upload somewhere.

But why not share infos. Like I was able to copy 40 folders, all files are copied... files have these names and file extension...
*.swf
*.bar

.
.
.

 Huh

I am willing to cooperate.

Best Regards
