I know I'm knew, and I though I'd read this whole site, but I can't seem to get my music, videos and contacts from my microsd card from the card to the phone. I formatted the card in the phone before I did anything. I then copied and pasted into each folder. When I put the card in the phone, it shows that I have used 6g of memory on the card, but my phone will not recognize the music, videos, or contacts. It did recognize my photos.

What am I doing wrong?

Music is the easiest, .mp3's into the 'my_music' folder on the MicroSD card.. (no sub folders allowed)
Video's, same copy your .mp4, .3g2 (no .avi) files into the 'my_video' folder on the MicroSD card (again no sub folders)

Contacts now... the 'my_contacts' folder on the MicroSD card is mainly for Exporting your ON PHONE Contact to the Card in .vcf format for importing to MS Outlook or other Programs that can read the .vcf format...
You can MOVE all your contacts from the phone to the MicroSD card and access them from the MicroSD card, but performance suffers.......  REAL poor....

Let me know if any of this helps....

Not sure if I posted this twice, if I did, I'm sorry.

But I did everything you told me to do. When I place the card in the phone it recognizes the phone, shows that the card has a certain amount of g's for music, video and contacts, but when I try to open either of them, it says nothing's there. For example, my phone recognizes that the card has 2g of music, but when I try to open my music, the phone says "No Music." Same for videos and contacts. Strangely, I can open my pics.

I hope so because I'm not exactly the most even tempered person when it comes to technology and gadgets (and having them not work properly). Phones and walls do not mix well.

I did everything I was supposed to do: formatted the card in the phone, copied and pasted files from my PC to the card, inserted the card. The phone recognizes the card, shows me that the card has music and videos on it, but just will not let me open them.

I tried scanning my card for music, and that doesn't even work.

Just as a test I put an old card from my Samsung Trance in it. This card had music on it too which would show up on the Trance. The Rogue wouldn't even recognize this card.

(2) Quick questions... 1.. Make & size of your MicroSD card...  (probably wont matter)
2... Can you look at the Contents of your MicroSd Card using the Phones 'USB Mass Storage' mode using the USB cable??

As Follows (you may have tried this already)...

Plug Phone in... Tap RED END to abort the Music Sync... Tap Menu.. Tap Settings & Tools...>  Tap Tools...
Scroll down...Tap 'USB Mass Storage'    Go to my computer to see if the card shows up on your computer as it would if you plugged it into a Card Reader......

IT's a SanDisk 8g.

And yes, the computer recognizes the phone when I plug it in like you instructed.

If I don't respond tonight I'll be in bed. Please help if you can.

Thanks much.

Also, I don't know if this means anything, but when I did what you asked (connecting phone to pc via USB) i noticed a folder in my music that I didn't put there. It says "sys," and when I open the folder it says "store.hds."

Don't know that that means.

Thanks Axis, you answered my USB question. I probably should have read the manual.  Smiley

Axis,

I tried the method you suggested via USB connection to my PC. I discovered that if I drag and drop each song individually from a certain artists folder, this successfully transfers the music so my phone recognizes it. So that problem is solved.

I still can't get the phone to recognize movies. I tried downloading movies that I burned via Handbrake (they are mp4 files) and digital copy movies from iTunes. The phone will not recognize either. I'm thinking I might have to do something similar to the music situation.

Your thoughts?

So Im having the same problem with muic. They were downloaded as mp3's, but when the guy at verizon tried to help, he said they were probably not being brought across as mp3s. I opened the playlist i created, looked up the location, and it did not show them as mp3s. How can i change them to mp3s. He said it could be done......,

Well, I thought it was working, but now every time I try and upload some songs, my phone freezes....every single time.
