I don't know anyone else who has a Rogue, so there's no one else I can ask without going to the store.

Here's my problem; my rogue is set to Ring/Vib whenever I get a text and play a certain ringtone.  Whenever I get the text, it vibrates and rings like it should.  However the ringtone will continue on until I either press "Reply with Text" or close the message all together.

Since most of you guys know you can just start typing and it will open up a quick reply window, but even if I'm pressing keys the ringtone still goes off.  This is EXTREMELY annoying as I just want it to shut the **** up!

So here's the question, is there a way that I can set it to where it will stop announcing the phone has a text message either when I push ANY button on the phone or just slide it open?  I've ran through all of the settings in the phone and I haven't seen any that would indicate what I'm looking for.

I don't think there's a setting for this.  I have noticed the same thing and have tried without luck to have it set to automatically stop.  I'm wondering, if the next time this happens, if we should try pressing the lock button.  This is how I silence my phone when it rings for a normal call.  I wonder if it will stop the text ring as well.  It's the one thing I haven't tried yet.

While I'm sad to hear you have the same problem, I'm still glad I'm not alone!  It still really sucks that we have to push the button to lock the phone to get it to turn off.  Has this bug/issue been reported to Samsung?

I have no idea if anyone else has submitted the issue to Samsung.  I just now did via the link in my signature.  Since this phone is no longer being sold by Verizon, chances are we won't see much in regards to firmware updates IMO- which really sucks for me since I have at least another year of my contract with the phone.

I've had my phone replaced once already, and only had a problem with this one.  I set my phone to vibrate only on everything, and calls are fine, but text messages are still silent.  I've been through all the sound options many times, setting vibrate to on, and an ample strength, picked a style, etc.  What am I missing?
