Greetings all,

I am wondering if anyone has ever had any success using "My Orb" on the Samsung Rogue.  For those who aren't familiar with My Orb, it is basically a way to view files located on your pc.  You can access Video, Audio, Data, Pictures, practically anything.  It is like logging in to your home computer from your phone, sort of like Slingbox.

http://www.orb.com/

It truly is the coolest thing ever.  My problem is, the internet streaming.  What sort of files does the Rogue support?  I have had errors trying to stream different formats.

You go here:  http://test.orb.com
to test what your phone can stream.  This would be very cool if I can get this to work, no need to load files onto your micro card, just stream what you have on your pc.  You can even stream live tv and your webcam so you can check on things at home.

Thanks much.

Please remember that the Rogue,  As nice as it is.. Is a typical Locked Down Verizon offering...
At this point. the only applications that it will run are the ones that you can get from Verizonwireless..

I too, use a remote access program daily (www.teamviewer.com) with my clients & family members...
As far as using software like this on the Rogue...  Sorry not happening anytime soon (i wish)!!

Thank you so much for the reply.

I do wish you can install a nice media player such as VLC, which plays just about everything.  So I guess there is no way to take advantage of the 'internet media', even if you are on a certain website, due to the fact that the Rogue browser is pretty generic and stripped down.

I will definitely try to find a workaround for this.  No way to get windows mobile on this phone then.  My Orb is so cool, I really want to make this work.  I think it would work for pictures, but not video and audio streaming.

The Browser does support flash lite which isn't tooo bad... (better then most no flash browsers) will stream some video...
surprises me sometimes.........

I got to mess with ORB more and tried the Music Audio Streaming.. Works very well.. havnt gotten any success with the Webcam as of yet, going to be a side project later in the day if time allows..
I use a program called Teamviewer to activate the Webcam and monitor my home from the work place, would be the bomb to also be able to check on things from the phone as well...  Sweet idea!!

Ok... Got the Webcam to come up.. but it isnt reliable.. sometimes it pops right up.. other times it seems to be in the media player "loading.... " forever...  Sometimes I just get a still shot.. no streaming at all... I've gone through ALL speed and other settings and Regular Video Streaming improved, but the Webcam still isnt right...
Any idea's??
