I've only had the phone about a week - the only problem I am having is when I go to get my voicemails by hitting the Events bar (and selecting Voicemail and tapping the Call bar) which dials me into my voicemail - my screen goes black when it asks for me to put in my password - making it impossible for me to type anything as the lock trips on. If I hit the unlock, the screen is lit for like 1 second (so still no help).

I just did what Axis recommended as far as replacing *86 with my phone# p and password - that works - but that only works when I go through my contact list to get to voicemail.

I'd like to be able to get my voicemail by touching the Events bar after unlocking the phone - vs going through my contacts list.

Please not that my screen backlight is set to 60 seconds and the keypad backlight is set to stay on.

Any suggestions?

I just posted a question on the exact same issue. I had not tried changing the number that is dialed to check the voice mail but I was actually thinking about trying that next. I'm going to keep an eye on this topic for solutions and just wanted to let you know I'm having the same issue so you might want to check my post for solutions as well. If I figure anything out I'll let you know.

Are you using a cover/case on your phone? I just figured out what the issue with mine was, no thanks to the 3 hours I spent on the phone with tech support or the two trips to the Verizon store.

I have a silicon case on it and although it has a cutaway for the sensor in the upper left corner that detects when the phone is against your face, it wasn't cut in quite the right place. The sensor constantly thought the phone was against my face so it was disabling the touch screen! I made the cutaway a little bigger, and Viola!

actually I got the silicon case a few days ago when the problem started....

today I stretched it a bit - for no apparant reason as I noticied the 2 dots slightly covered - and when I went to show some friends tonight the issue I was having - the touch screen appeared to be working as it should be- ie not disappearing.

I really do appreciate you posting back and forth with me - let's hope it does the trick for both of us!
