I guess my number must have been a former mortgage company's or something. I have had problems (particularly this summer) with various numbers calling my cell phone and then they leave a voicemail and it's a FAX machine. Of course, they try 5-6 times and then I have 5-6 voicemails with just "BEEP, BEEP, BEEP" and when I try to skip the message, the phone doesn't recognize the command. Nor does it allow me to erase the message or even archive it. Nothing! This is very frustrating as I have new, important voicemails that I need to hear and I don't want to sit thru all these unwanted fax voicemails----each in their entirety to get to my REAL voicemails. What can I do about this? Nothing? I'm am honestly thinking of changing my number, but I've had this number for a couple years and I really don't want to unless it's my only option.

1) verizon offers a block list, numbers that it will not allow through, i suggest figuring out what the number is thats calling you and blocking it (my guess is its always the same one)

2) there should be a button you push at the end of the vm in order to delete it, if thats not working get in touch with verizon bc its a bug in their VM system and they should be able to file a bug report for you and they should be able to fix it for you. (every verizon store i have ever entered has done this much for free since you are already a paying customer)

Actually they are different numbers. Sigh. I have had this problem for the past 2-3 months. I jotted down the numbers a couple months ago and sent each of them a fax back and told them to please stop trying to fax my personal cell phone. Faxes from those numbers stopped, but now there are new numbers trying to fax me. I guess somewhere someone really screwed up and erroneously typed in a wrong number and got my phone instead of the real number that all these places need something faxed to!

Thanks for your advice, though. I will go to a Verizon store and tell them it must stop...somehow, some way.

There is an option to delete the voicemail, but I have to listen to the entire beeping message to the end and numerous messages at that! Can't say I want to spend an hour or more doing this. I can't skip the fax voicemail messages to get to my real messages, either. Really this is a big problem. I can't be the only one this happens to, can I?
