the alarm clock function

when new the alarm could be silenced by putting the phone face down on a surface.
now it will only stop ringing if the ringer "off" dial that pops up. How do I put it back.

Maybe your Motion Detection was turned off somehow. Check it to be sure: Settings & Tools > Phone Settings (7) > Motion Detection (*)
