Hello I'm new here and I've just finished searching for information about video message size limitations. Failing to get an definitive answer I did some hands on.

Max file size: ~416 kB at 176 x 144 which is 30 sec.

The Rogue records videos in three resolutions: Camcorder direct - 640 x 480 & 320 x 240, Messaging Camcorder - 176 x 144. Camcorder direct will produce a file too big to send via MMS. Only the Messaging camcorder method works. This means knowing in advance that you are going to send the video through MMS and use the video messaging camcorder function.

1. Enter the Messaging function
2. Select (1)New Message
3. Select (3)Video Message
4. Enter your Contact(s) and text as desired.
5. Scroll down to the Video box and tap on it. This will take you to a list of your videos.
6. At the bottom of the screen is a bar titled "Camcorder". Click on this. It will start the camcorder function of the phone.
7. Record your video. Note at the bottom of the screen you have only 30 seconds max.
8. Once you are done recording, in the upper right corner of the screen is the "Add" button. Click this to add to your message. Adding it will also save it to your phone for later viewing/sending. However, there is no unique identifier to know that the file is appropriate for MMS.
9. Having been returned to your message in progress, finish filling out the remaining fields as desired, then send.

After having recorded a video in this manner I went back to My Videos and checked the file info. That's where I found out what could be sent. Also I noticed that different 30 second clips were different sizes. Not by much but still. So just guessing, the file max is probably closer to 512 kB.

I hope this helps someone. It's all I could do to alleviate my irritation with the phones manual and web resources. No mention that I could find about functional limitations.

Good luck.

You did your homework well....

The Size for Video messaging isn't locked or a set standard.. but the sizes you have come up w/ are about  it....

This pertains to the Messaging side only though, as I am sure you have also figured out,  If you use SAVE mode you are limited only by the size of your MicroSD Card...........''

I just read one of the other posts about video. I saw that Axis gave instructions for the Rec Mode. So at the risk of being redundant but more complete I'll reiterate what Axis wrote.

Previously I stated that you had to go through the messaging function to record video for messaging. As Axis points out there is the following method for recording and sending:

*****

Start the Video Camera (switch to camcorder mode)
Tap Recording Mode

Send = 30 Second Videos, for Video Message Sending.. Short & Low Quality

Save =  up to 640x480 and as large a Video as you have room for on your MicroSD card

*****

Thanks Axis for this tid bit.
