I am running into what I think is a problem but wanted to check with everyone else. When I take a picture there is at least a 3 second delay before the picture actually takes, so most people are moving beore the picture takes. is anyone else having this delay? is it 'normal' for the camera or is it my phone? anyone know how to fix it?

I have checked the settings
timer:off
autoshot: off
autofocus: normal
quality; fine
effects: normal
white balance: auto
iso: auto
metering: center
contrast, saturation and sharpness all are zero

Mine does this too.  I think it is normal.  It's the autofocus.  Most digital cameras do a "pre-focus" when you hold down the button half way.  That way when you finally push the button all the way the picture is taken very quickly.  This phone does the autofocus after the button is pushed.   Thus the delay.
When taking pictures of my kids with this phone I usually count out loud to three to let them know when they should be looking/smiling.

It's absolutely normal for it to be doing that.

There is still a delay if the auto focus is off, give or take 1 second.

autofocus: normal
white balance: auto
iso: auto
metering: center

-it goes for any camera, if there is Auto setting that means it has to do some checks first before it picks settings it is going to use for that take and then takes the pic. I haven't tested on this camera but on personal cameras, manually choosing these settings will make it take pic faster, but again you would have to manually set each one and most times manual settings don't work for different situations.

I've found that shooting pix without my glasses on makes the autofocus delay worse.
