Has anyone else downloaded the Get It Now Search app?  I did yesterday...it was a free one.  It allows you to search for apps on the Verizon app store.  The part that is nice is that it actually gives you a description of the app which you couldn't get by just looking under the Get New Applications section.  Hopefully this is Verizon starting to get ready for more apps being available for this phone.

I just downloaded it and tried it out but unless i'm missing something I don't really care for it. It seems that unless you know what your looking for its not much good. I could not find a way to browse all apps. Again I might have missed how to cause I only tried it out for a few minutes.

An example would be to type games and then it brings up categories and then you can drill from there.  I don't know if you can show all apps or not either...I don't see a way.  But still, I think it is better than what we had on the phone before because it gives more info on the app.

Doesnt do much good when there is a total of like 10 apps in get it now, thats why they split them up into 20 categories and include multiples in each...to make it look bigger than it really is.  WeatherBug is in like 4 of the categories haha

As I read same funny thing on LG VX11000 as it has same Resolution 800 x 480 Pixel...

Verizon hide their huge Collection of usefull Apps.  Roll Eyes

At the moment it seems real Smartphones have prority for Developer and BREW is more and more unattractive for enduser AND independent Developer...

OEMs or huge Gamecompanies have enough money and Develop Tools to compile to different platforms via "1 Click"...  Grin

I think more and more user will choose next time handset without BREW... to choose self and to have more then 10 Apps...

Best Regards

The only reason I dont currently have the Droid is the outrageous $30 a month data plan.  Why must I have this stupid data plan when it has Wi-Fi and im on a college campus that has Wi-Fi everywhere...I should be able to use the features that require data on wifi and only have to buy a 10mb package or something.  $30 a month is ridiculous just so it has "Data" not to mention the extremely high minutes/text plans.  I was going to start my own account because I thought it would be cheaper, but to get just what I have now, unlimited text and we have 700 shared over 4 lines and I really dont need that much like 250-300 I could easily get by with and when you include that stupid data plan my bill would be like $80-$100 a month AND they STILL charge $200 for that stupid thing with a 2 year contract.  The way I see it is if I want a new damn phone at the 2 year price, just make my contract 2 years longer from the current end of contract date, im a freakin customer and you wont let me have anything new because all you care about is getting new customers.  I sure hope At&t or Sprint grow some balls and make there network bigger to compete with Verizon, really you cant ride off the iPhone the whole time and someone needs to cut Verizon down.
