Here is a signed jad for opera mini and bolt. Full screen hack has been added. Upload them either to

Davidpye or
http://www.davidpye.com/index.php?page=freewap

WapHQ
http://www.waphq.net/index.php

And follow the directions for the one you choose to download to your phone.

Also I added the rotate in the jad also. When you open the slider it puts it in landscape and you can type  in the text boxxes without double tapping and going through the big blue screen. Works real nice in landscape with the keyboard. You have arrows to pan around too.

When using the slider for bolt to type the internet address in directly go menu/preferences and put a check in 'Inline Editing' then save

For Opera mini menu/tools/settings and put a checkmark in 'Auto-complete address input' then save

This seems to have the same problem as the google maps app.

The rogue's verizon browser doesn't want to download anything. It just opens the .jad file in the browser.

Did you have different results?

yeah i'm also rather clueless as to how to get opera mini going on this phone. this is the first phone that ive ever used the internet on, so i was wondering how good the stock one even is? i'm assuming opera mini is better, but what are all the options for this phone (assuming someone can figure out how to install anything), and what's the best one? from what i've read opera mini seems to be the gold standard.

The browser on the phone is a polaris 6.1 browser that has been modified to prevent downloading by verizon.

To my knowledge, it is currently impossible to install anything non-verizon on the phone, so any other browsers would be out, including skyfire and Opera Mini.

If you want replace or add Browser. Then only BREW possible. This means:
MIF + MOD + SIG (+BAR) files.

JAD + JAR is JAVA and not working.

In theory you can write your own Browser. As Qualcomm offered since 2003 complete source code...

 Grin

The Browser example called BREWser

Best Regards
