An open / OS / Platform it seems, like Google's Android OS...  Nice idea but....

How many open Platforms are needed??  If the future for Cell Phones is open platforms I say GREAT!!!!  Open Platforms will make us (the users) happier... 3rd party apps and games for all.. Smiley

But each company really shouldn't develop their own.... UNLESS they can all agree on certain common standards...

Look what happen to Linux... far too many variations.. Its the main reason it hasn't really done well in the main stream...

I think by 2010, though - some of us will have retired our Rogues for newer phones and we'll be able to get apps on the new ones, especially if the iPhone comes to Verizon in the future.

I know I plan on a new phone in August of 2010 because I am a sucker for shiny, new toys.

What am I going to do without the Rogue forum then? LoL! I'll have to leave and join a new one Sad

as far as i have talked to reps verizon and 3rd party retailers. Verizon is planning on getting the iphone sometime 1st-2nd quarter of 2010. If that happens we will have to see but would be a killer for ATT
