Well I was about that close to buying a droid today. Actually was on my way and decided to read a few reviews and postings. Im going to hold off for a bit. One of the sites I visit has alot of flash content, Droid not have flash. Also problems with the cam have been expressed and some of the widgets not working. Problems with yahoo mail also.

Flash 10 will be out for it by the end of the year. The phone overall is awsome. The android os is just so good and fast. Ill post some for in depth about it such as pro's and con's soon. But so far the pro's outway the cons

I put my hands on a Droid today - wasn't impressed at all.

Yeah, there's some customization I wish VZ would let all phones do, and there's plenty of apps and the muti app utilization is nice, and the multiple screens are good .... BUT ..... that doesn't take away from the cheap feeling the phone is in your hands - and I mean it feels cheap - even when you slide it open it feels flimsy - there's no sense the phone is built to last. Feel disposable. Then there's the crappy querty (flat keys that you can't tell which key your finger is on), a VERY dim screen (and I was inside - must really suck outside) that kept changing brightness on it's own.

What bothered me the most? So much hype about this android software - faster? Not by much. Not really even noticable. I opened several similar programs on the Rogue and Droid and they opened at the same time - and the Rogue opened the web browser faster.

Not impressed at all ... no wonder it's only $200.

I'd buy a Storm 2 well bofore a Droid.

wow i really don't know what phone you picked up but it wasn't the droid.

first off, the whole thing is metal it is really heavy and extremely sturdy

second, you can put the brightness to manual and it's very bright

third, did you check how many apps where running on the one u used cause i bet (just like the storm and storm 2) there was a ton of stuff running cause god knows how many people played with it and didn't run taskkiller. so of course it would be bogged down.

fourth, how can you say the rogue loads it's browser faster?!?!? it has to connect everytime you enter it. the droids browser is always up and pops you INSTANTLY back to the bage you left off on

Dude - you DO know that "phone sex" is supposed to be with another person on the phone - not actually WITH the phone - right?
But hey, if you're actually going there, at least were a screen protector!

OK - seriously. You like the Droid, great! Go get one. It won't change the fact that it's an over hyped piece of crap. In fact it will prove that point. The only reason Verizon customers are going goo-goo over it is that for the first time VZ is allowing customer customization of a phone w/out having to hack it.

For me to drink the Kool-Aid, they'd have to make some serious changes:
~ better screen. Not only is it dim, it's not nearly as clear as the Rogue
~ make the slide the same size as the base - what's that lip all about anyway?
~ better keyboard - more tactile - raised keys so I know what key I am pressing and when it's pressed.
~ And for Gods sake, build the thing so it doesn't feel so cheap and likely to fall apart.
~ 512kb ROM? Please!

If you are gonna diss the phone at least have viable facts.

Yes I will give u the keyboard isn't that good

I still don't see why you say it feels cheap. You need to pick up another one cause its ******* sturdy. More sturdy then that flimbsy rogue slider

How can u say the screen is crap it's the same res as the rogue the only difference is it's not AMOLED which is a samsung thing. Would it be nice to have that, you fucking bet, but compared to even the iphone it has twice the resolution

If you wanna compare faults with the rogue I could make youu a list longer then you'd care to read.

Imo you already had your mind made up before you went and saw it which is fine if you don't like it, but don't bash aspects about it you know nothing about

Look man - take a few deep breaths. Then edit the language in your last post.

I already said, you want a Droid, you like the Droid - than go get one.

It doesn't work for me. At first I thought it was going to be a really cool phone (based on ads) - then I put my hands on one and have a completely different perspective. It's an over hyped crap phone and all the lists you can generate won't change that.

End of story.

i like how you think your opinion is the undeniable truth. your bad review as i'd like to call it has no legs to stand on cause you picked up some phone at the store for 5 seconds. use one for an extended period of time. mess with the "brightness setting" cause i'm sure you just went "oh the screen is dim guess they didn't think about a setting to change that" and didn't even look.

i tell you what i'll go into the verizon store and turn the storm 2's brightness down then bash it cause it's "dim".

if you don't like the droid cause it doesn't fit your needs then that fine, but don't go telling people it's crap and to buy a storm just cause you don't like it.
