Author Topic: Reception, signal strength?  (Read 853 times)

In your experience, how good is the reception/signal strength with the Rogue? I just got one, and so far it seems like a good, solid phone, but I'm finding the keyboard cramped and thinking of switching to the enV Touch for its larger keyboard and what seems like a somewhat better feature set. But if I already have the phone with better reception in trouble areas (like my home neighborhood), then switching won't make sense. I just haven't had enough time to judge it adequately and I can't compare the two phone side by side, so I'm looking for input from other users.

I've had solid signal strength & call reception..on my former models (LG) I've had terrible sound quality & a lot of annoying echo...none on the Rogue! Love this phone!

I would say my Rogue drops way more calls than my previous Nokia 6235i. I switched to VZ from Alltel and consistently drop calls now in areas where I never had signal issues on Alltel with my old phone.

Are there any suggestions to improve signal quality and reduce call drops? Setting changes, etc.

Haven't had a dropped call, yet and i've been out in the middle of nowhere with the phone.

Sound quality is good, on both sides, too.

I don't have the Rogue (yet) but am currently shopping Verizon's phones and if you compare hardware & feature specs, I would say Rogue has more than EnV Touch.  Double check them.

I have yet to drop a call on this phone.  That wasn't true of my LG Env.  There were places that the phone would drop a call every time.  I tested all of those areas with my Rogue and, while the signal strength did drop, the calls didn't  Grin

Like Axis suggested, try *228.  Maybe a reprogram will straighten it out.

My daughter has the LG Env Touch and really likes it.  She hasn't mentioned any signal strength issues.  For ME, the Rogue was the better choice.  I looked hard at both.
