The other day I updated my Rogue phone and the browser was also updated. It is now at POLARIS Browser Ver 6.2.1 VEN005. Does anyone like this new browser?  It does not work as well as the prior version. Here are some of the issues:
- History is not retained in the address drop down
- Many web pages (Hotmail and FB for example), don't wrap. I don’t like how it horizontal scrolls, make it much harder to read and email message.
- I don't like how the address bar automatically goes away. I rather control when to be in full screen mode like before.
- The settings” Display Mode and Full Screen seems like they should control this behavior but they don’t anything as far as I can tell.
- The back button is not longer right next to the address bar
- There is no longer a forward button

I called Verizon twice and they did not provide must help. They said it is not possible to rollback to the prior version. The insisted resetting my phone, but it did not help.

Anyone else have a positive or negative experience with this browser. How you found a way to configure? Does anybody know how to roll back to a prior version?

-for me at least all the pages i use on the phone are in my favorites so no issue, and it actually makes the phone run faster (sorta like clearing the temp history on your computer browser)
-mine has never wrapped the text in the URL bar it has always been horizontally scrolling
-you CAN turn off full screen mode press the plus sign at the bottom click settings hit full screen, and make sure full screen off is selected.
-for going back i usually use the return button in btwn the send and end buttons, quicker anyway
-how much do you use the phone that you actually need a forward button on your phone?

verizon wont be the one making the software changes, it would be samsung.

and (at least for me) the new browser is faster (and not really new, i got it in the update back in july, there has been another one since then) and smoother overall, lets you see more of the webpage at once and makes (imo) zooming more intuitive (other people have stopped asking me how to zoom on the phone since the upgrade)

Thanks for your response.

Does the address bar drop down either contain your history or favorites?  In this version, the drop down does not seem to work.

I was talking about the web page content. Does the content wrap no matter what zoom you are at? it does not wrap for me when viewing hotmail, FB, and some other pages.

What is the full screen mode suppose to do? It does not seem to work for me, or I'm n ot seeing what behavior it changes.

The automatic zooming when you set focus to a text box is nice.

I don't use the forward button much, so this is not a big deal.

Thanks,

the address bar drop down seems to sorta like an instant search, but only when i have started typing something (i dont type anything usually, i use favorites)

i dont believe the page content has EVER wrapped on my phone (it still doesnt, but idc for what i do on the phone, its not like im reading news or anything)

im really not sure, i like the new full screen default since it gives you more screen space to see at once.

I don't think it was said, but there is still a forward button.  It's first on the list of options when you press the plus button.

In the old browser, "Text Wrap" under displays used to wrap all text and simplify the page so only vertical scrolling was available, and it made reading stories or lyrics very easy.  One of the views (not sure which one) still wraps the text, but you can scroll left or right and lose some of it.  Also, has anyone noticed that in portrait layout, the zoom rocker on the right side of the phone has it's functions reversed? Down zooms in and up zooms out.  Wtf Samsung.
