Hello there everyone. I was a Rogue owner for about 6 months, actually, I was the owner of 10, count 'em, 10 Rogue's. After 3 upgrades, yes, I could have switched phones, but any phone they would give me would have been even lower than the Rogue, so I just waited, and upgraded a few days ago to the Droid. Anyway, for those of you considering getting this phone, here is a large list of problems I encountered with the phone, and not only one, but all 10. While I see only a few of the users here complaining about these problems, I have 3 friends who own the Rogue that have experienced the same issues. Please consider these bugs when buying this phone, and yes, I had the newest software update.

- Phone randomly freezes. Can freeze while texting, while in a call, in pictures, games, or even while being locked. You'll go to touch something or unlock it and it won't work. The ONLY solution is taking out the battery. This happened to me at least 3 times a day (and up to 20) with EVERY phone I had.
- Phone's are prone to "battery failure." After having a full night's charge and having all 4 bars, I would put my phone in my pocket for my 30 minute bus ride. WITHOUT using it at all. By the time I got to school and it was time to turn it off, the phone would already be dead. This happened with about 4 of the phone's I had, and it wasn't the battery, because I switched those out.
- During calls, will start vibrating non stop, and freeze up. It's quite annoying in the middle of an important call to have someone asking what all that buzzing noise is and having to yell at them that you'll call them back in a few minutes.
- Screen splits. Almost constant screen splits. When locking the phone, sliding out the keyboard, texting, using the internet, everything, the screen will split in half. Sometimes it splits in half more than once. Because it's a touch screen, this makes EVERYTHING off balance. Once again, there isn't any solution but to turn off the phone.

And there you have it. All the bugs my friends and I have experienced with this phone. On the Verizon reviews, many people complain about these as well. So, good luck if you have this phone and have to deal with these problems, and please take all this to mind if you're considering buying the Rogue. (:

Like any piece of technology, phones are prone to bugs. Even the Droid. Most people on this site have owned the Rogue for quite a while without a problem. My Rogue has never frozen or had a split screen or had battery issues. One thing that I have learned from "former" Rogue owners is that they ask too much of a little texting phone and come away disappointed. The battery life is not the greatest, but what phone's is. After you train the battery, or break it in, the phone and battery combo works fine. And if you went through 10, count 'em 10 different phones, you think you would have gotten your Droid a lot sooner.

Yea I have had two of the problems you have talked about. My phone radomly freezes on me sometimes but not nearly as much as yours has. It happens about a few times a week. I also hae had the screen split on me too. It happens when I slide out the keyboard sometimes and it is annoying. I havent gotten my phone replaced yet though so I am just dealing with these problems. The thing is, is that these things dont happen all the time so it would be hard for me to take it to verizon and have them replace it without repoducing the problem. I was hoping the new update would have fixed these problems but sadly it has not so I just got use to them.

I am on my 3rd Rogue since I bought it around Black Friday.  My original phone worked GREAT til I dropped it in my kitchen on New Years!  Even after I dropped it, it worked great with the exception that the screen was cracked, but even the touch screen worked fine!  Still, I decided to get a CPO (certified pre-owned) from Verizon for $50 since the crack kept spreading and I wasn't sure what else might get worse.  BIG mistake!  I am on my second CPO so far and still have some problems.  First CPO kept freezing up on me!  I couldn't even unlock the screen without using the side button, but even once I unlocked it I still couldn't use it. So brought that one back and got another one.  This one keeps shutting off on me randomly (even with a full battery!), and sometimes when I dial a number then put the phone to me ear to talk (while in the car, mostly) it will vibrate and beep once and when I look at the screen wierd stuff will be on it, like the "notes" screen, or some wierd call log menu.  Verizon Tech support doesn't have an explanation.  I was told that CPO phones are thoroghly checked over and should be as good as...if not better than new!  I had less problems with the phone I dropped!  Should have stuck with the cracked screen!  At least the rest of the phone worked!

I think the light sensor is the problen when you start talking. It is supposed to turn off the screen and when it doesn't your face hits the touch screen and activates it. That happened to me once. I previosly had the lg chocolate slide and if you turned off speakerphone and put it to your face the touch features would vibrate and activate diff things.

The MUSIC PLAYER is butt-terrible!!!!!  That crappy music player ruined the fun out this phone.  To make it worse...the volume barely gets loud at all.  I havent tried blu-tooth yet, but I can't imagine it being any louder.  you can't even turn on shuffle without having the music stop playing.  You can't play a song and even view the darn clock.  WTF!  I guess i'll be buying an ipod after all.

PS...i had a samsung juke before this and that 3 year old phone's music player puts this one's to shame.

I totally agree...this completley ruins the music experience of this phone...thru headphones I can't stand it it is sooooo flat sounding and the volume can only be heard by a baby with new ears...however, bluetoothing thru my car is much much better...

My first rogue was amazing, no problems to really speak of (minus the few times it got the split screen).  I dropped it and the screen totally popped out =( Then I went through the insurance company and they sent me a refurbished phone.  I have had nothing but problems with the refurbed one.  The screen splits constantly, when I plug it in someone has to text me to unfreeze my phone, it drops my calls, the keypad doesn't work as well as my first one.  My net went down 2 weeks ago on it and I can't send picture/multimedia messages on it.  I went to Verizon yesterday and they told me that they couldn't do anything about it because it was an Asurion phone (insurance company).  I called them up and they were most helpful! I am getting a brand new Reality complete with the car charger and wall charger--all for free.  Lets hope that this phone is a bit better than the refurbished phones.

My first post and I'm bringing this back from the dead!

I've had my Rouge for nearly a year. The past couple months I've experienced the freezing issue. It drives me insane!!! Today it froze up at the most inopportune time. My central air died, and I was trying to setup a time for my HVAC guy to come look at it. Can't do that with a frozen phone...

Long story short, I came home and reactivated my old LG flip phone. It has never given me a problem. The Rouge will sit in the drawer until I get rid of it, the POS.

Ive had the rogue since october 09. The major problems ive faced is random power downs, split screen, and now when i go to messages and open the keyboard it shuts off. so i cannot even use the physical keys anymore. Overall, it has ben an OK phone, not the worst... not the best either.

i have had mine since mid october of 2009 and i have not had one single problem with it, the internet access has been fine, the OS while basic, has not given me any problems, the sound quality has been pretty good, the service (reception) has been good considering where i live.  it has NEVER frozen up on me, nor have i ever seen this supposed split screen.

while i am sorry that you have had issues with yours that does NOT make this model of phone a POS, just your specific handset

just in case this comes across wrong, i am NOT offended that you have your opinion as you are entitled to that, but there are facts out there that need to be shared with you.
