I don't actually know the limit, but I created numerous ringtones and sent them to my phone with each being about 700kb in size without a problem. On my phone, they aren't nearly that size, in fact about 1/2 the size of whatever I sent using yournumber@vzwpix.com. Some processing is happening on their end to resize the sound file and make it compatible with the phone I suppose. It does seem that some quality is lost in the process.
