Help? Very urgent. Phone shuts off when going to IM

I need the mobile IM app for my phone as it's very important for my job.

whenever I go to the mobile IM app, the phone just shuts off. I need to know how I can fix this ASAP!

do you have the most recent software update? if not get it, if so you might have to go to verizon and complain and see what they tell you
