Are you paying for backupassistant?
And is it using data?
I found a work around where I can backup all my contacts, and because the format is .vcf your contacts may interoperate with your email.
Here is how you backup your contacts to your SD card, this process requires a Card.
Go to - Settings and Tools - memory - phone memory - my contacts - copy - copy all.
Now you have all your contacts as VCF files in my_contacts on your card.
To get them to your PC, plug your USB cable into your Phone and PC. Go to Settings and tools - Tools - USB Mass Storage. A new device shows up in your PC copy your my_contacts folder and then in Windows mail or Outlook Express go to File - import - contacts. You should be able to reverse this process to put your Mail contacts into your phone.
"Disclaimer" I take no responsibility if you start overwriting the files on your phone.
The backup process works great. Backup your contacts first and I feel comfortable you can get them back. I can't be responsible for what MS does to VCF files that may not be compatible with our phones.
